Integrating Energy Planning and Techno-Economic Development: A Solid Basis for the Assessment and Transfer of Energy Technology to Developing Countries
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction Developing countries which suffer from several technical and technological weaknesses and of under-developed socio-economic systems, also face energy shortages and inefficient energy systems. This situation gets worse if we take into account the high population growth rate in these countries. Such an enormous increase in population leads to a scramble for limited energy resources and increasingly causes environmental negative impacts (i.e. CO2 emission and global warming, natural resources depletion, deforestation) particularly those effects from consuming fossil fuels. There has been a steep reduction in oil prices since the middle of the 1980s caused by two main factors apart from political reasons: the development of alternative sources of energy, especially of renewable resources, and also the trend of efficient ways to use energy.

Energy Technology and Strategic Assessment of Environmental Impact for Developing Countries
Introduction Improvement of the energy industry in developing countries is the major basis of the process of techno-economic and socio-cultural development. This improvement requires the transfer of energy technology which is dominated by non-renewable energy systems. Natural resources which are mostly non-renewable, on the other hand, face various threats caused by such a process of developmen...

The current situation of world’s environmental issues, indicates that not only the man-made environmental damages have not been diminished, but also has given rise to more acute issues such as water and soil pollution, biodiversity loss, ozone depletion, greenhouse phenomena, etc. One of the most prominent effects of urban development on environmental problems caused by solid waste generated in...
متن کاملTechno- Economic and Life- Cycle Cost Assessment of the CCHP/ PV Hybrid System Application
In recent decades, excessive using fossil fuels has been resulted in emitting greenhouse gases such as CO2, consequently, environmental pollution. In this study, the techno-economic analysis of the CCHP/PV hybrid system application for a sample building was examined to reduce the environmental pollution and primary energy consumption of the buildings. The life-cycle cost analysis was...
متن کاملTechno-Economic Assessment of Heat Recovery in Series Condensers Arrangement: Hot and Humid Regions
A direct expansion (DX) HVAC system is an efficient way to supply fresh and dehumidified air to a built environment. To improve the efficiency of a conventional DX system in hot and humid regions, fresh air dehumidification and conditioning systems with energy recovery measures are the key equipment to reach such a goal. To achieve this goal an integrated system is proposed. The integrated syst...
متن کاملTechno-Economic Assessment of Different Inlet Air Cooling Systems in Warm Dry & Wet Climate Stations
Performance of a gas turbine mainly depends on the inlet air temperature. The power output of a gas turbine depends on the flow of mass through it. This is precisely the reason why on hot days, when air is less dense, power output falls. The objective here is to assess the advanced systems applied in reducing the gas turbine intake air temperature and examine the merits from integration of the ...
